Lynette Hampsten is first and foremost a professional. She's an ace carpenter. She's punctual, hardworking and perhaps a perfectionist. Her most qualifying attribute is trustworthiness.
I contacted Ms. Hampsten to repair floor damage under my kichen sink caused by a water leak that had been ongoing, unknown, for many, many, months. The damage was extensive. My home is pier and beam. The entire floor had rotted away. Ms. Hampsten removed all the water damaged flooring. In doing this, she found the beam had been also damaged by the leak and needed to be replaced and shored up to maintain the intergrity of the house. Additionally, she rebuilt the plumbing under the sink (not repaired - rebuilt using all new materials). She removed the dishwasher and capped off the electrical receptacle. She took all the damaged materials, and the dishwasher, to the dump. She left the area under my sink looking like it had never incurred damage. It looks brand new.
Next, Ms. Hampsten, repaired water damage to the bathroom floor. She removed the entire bathroom floor. Shored up the connecting beams and redirected the toilet drain into a more downward direction to create better flow to the septic system. She installed a pedestal sink and reworked the plumbing to accommodate the new pedestal sink. This required removing the lower part of the wall. After the new plumbing was installed, she taped and floated the new drywall. She also redirected the water line to the toilet because as she said, "It just isn't right the way it is."
Ms. Hampsten came to my aid another time to help repair fence damage caused by Hurricane Ike. She was extremely mindful of my budget and worked to stay within the insurance monies.
Ms. Hampsten stays within her price estimates and on the occasion that she required materials beyond her estimate, she was honest and upfront with the changes. She is courteous, considerate and understanding. She worked within my work schedule and while the project may have taken a little longer than planned, she never complained nor did the quality of her work lessen. When she was repairing my fence, I had no hesitation leaving her alone while I was at work. She's honest and trustworthy.
I will continue to use Ms. Hampsten for any major repairs/maintenance needed on my home. I have an older country home with a million working part, bits and pieces. Something will always be in need or repair of maintenance. She will always be the first call I make.

I received a significant amount of water damage to my multi-story townhome after Hurricane Ike. I was calling around for quotes, and being female and knowing nothing about DIY I was getting throughly ripped off in the estimates I was receiving and the amount of work I was being told was necessary. A friend referred me to Lynette, who came by and gave me quotes on all the different types of work and spoke to me truthfully about what did and didn't need done. To cut a long story short, she saved me a fortune and did stellar work all through the house. She did sheetrock work, baseboard repairs, doorframe redesign (to save cost on full replacement), paint work, tile, stucco repair to name a few. The work was done methodically, professionally, and to a very high standard. I was horrified to discover I had termites on my front doorframe. After the termite guy came and did his thing, I had to have repair work done on all the damaged framework and wood structures. I got some crazy quotes on the extent of the work that needed done. Lynette came out and told me what ACTUALLY needed to be done. Did all her measurements, got a deposit, bought her supplies and then proceeded to fix it all in a couple of days. Fantastic.

Talk about quality work...Lynette is awesome. She recently turned a non-usable space in my home into a large, wonderful, fully-functional closet. During construction, she also found a leak in my attic of which I was completely unaware; this saved me a huge amount of future work, hassle and money. I actually enjoyed the time Lynette worked in my house and it did not feel like my home was "under construction" at all. She even kept my sweet Weim, Star, company during the day and many times during during those weeks I found her favorite toy, Blue Bunny, in the work area awaiting Lynette's arrival, on Lynette's jacket, etc. Star and I were both a little sad when the job was finished, but we sure ended up with one heck of a closet.
